Videowise vs Sprii: On-Site Video or Live Shopping?

These two land on the same shortlist and answer different questions. Videowise is on-site shoppable video merchandising with published pricing. Sprii is live shopping, streamed to your storefront and several social channels at the same time, quoted rather than published. Picking between them is really a choice about whether you are running video or running events.

Key takeaways

  • Videowise is on-site video merchandising sold per product line, from $239 a month billed annually, with Live Shopping as one of those lines.
  • Sprii is live-shopping first. Its distinctive capability is streaming one live show to your own website and multiple social channels simultaneously.
  • Sprii does not publish prices. Four named plans exist — Boutique Social, Social, Combo and Turnkey — and each routes to a sales conversation.
  • The deciding question is operational, not technical. Live shopping is an events programme needing a host, a schedule and a content calendar; on-site video is a merchandising layer that works while you sleep.
  • If you only want Reels and TikToks shoppable on product pages, neither is the right size of tool.

Search for live shopping platforms and both names surface, often on the same shortlist. Videowise and Sprii are not really competing for the same job, though, and picking between them on a feature grid will lead you to the wrong answer.

The short version: Videowise is on-site video merchandising that happens to sell a live shopping product line. Sprii is a live shopping platform whose distinctive trick is broadcasting one show to your storefront and several social channels at once. The first is a layer on your product pages. The second is a broadcast operation with a schedule.

Videowise publishes its prices; Sprii does not. Figures below were read off each vendor's own pages on that date. Both companies change packaging regularly, so confirm before you commit a budget.

What is Videowise?

Videowise is a shoppable video platform aimed at ecommerce brands and retailers, built around video on product and collection pages: carousels, Stories, inline grids and embeds, with detailed styling control and revenue attribution as the central argument.

Its pricing is sold per product line rather than as one plan. Billed annually, Shoppable Video starts at $239 a month for sites up to 50,000 monthly visitors, Live Shopping at $239 for up to 20,000 streamed minutes, AI Clips at $159, and the full platform at $479. Monthly billing costs roughly 20 per cent more. There is no free tier, though a trial or pilot is available on request.

That structure matters here: Videowise can do live shopping, but you are buying it as one line inside a platform whose centre of gravity is on-site merchandising. For the two-way comparison most people reach for first, see Videowise vs Tolstoy, and for the wider field, Videowise alternatives.

What is Sprii?

Sprii is a live shopping platform used by European brands running livestream commerce as a regular channel. Its central capability, and the one it positions hardest on, is streaming a live shoppable show to your own website and multiple social channels simultaneously rather than picking one destination.

The practical pieces:

  • A host app that streams from iOS, Android or OBS, so a phone and a ring light is a viable starting setup
  • Interactive overlays sitting on top of the video, where product links, buttons and highlights can be attached live during the stream
  • Integrations with Shopify, Magento and WooCommerce, plus payment and shipping connections including PayPal, so checkout stays in your existing stack

Sprii reports more than €365 million in generated revenue, 21 million products sold and over 72,000 live events hosted on the platform. Those are the company's own published figures rather than independently audited ones, which is normal for this category — treat them as evidence that the platform runs at real scale, not as a projection for your store.

Pricing is not published. Four plans are named — Boutique Social, Social, Combo and Turnkey — and each routes to a sales conversation. No free tier is advertised.

The real difference: a layer versus an operation

Everything above reduces to one distinction that will decide this for you.

On-site shoppable video is passive infrastructure. You place it once, feed it content periodically, and it works on every session without anyone present. Its job is answering "what does this look like in real life" at the moment someone is deciding. It fails quietly, by going stale.

Live shopping is an event. Someone has to host it, at a scheduled time, with products chosen and talking points prepared, and someone has to promote it so people turn up. Done well it produces concentrated bursts of revenue and genuinely valuable recorded content. Done half-heartedly it produces a stream with eleven viewers and a lot of internal disappointment.

Neither is better. But they cost different things, and the expensive part of live shopping is not the software licence — it is the recurring human commitment.

Before you talk to either vendor

  • Name the person who will host live shows, and check it is in their objectives rather than their spare time
  • Decide the cadence you can actually sustain for six months, not the one that sounds ambitious
  • Know your monthly visitor count, because it sets your Videowise tier
  • Decide which channels matter: if simultaneous social plus storefront is the point, that is Sprii's argument
  • Work out what a stream must earn to clear the licence plus the hours around it

A note on comparing a published price with a quote: it is tempting to read "quoted" as "more expensive", and that is not reliably true. What it does mean is a slower evaluation, an annual commitment more often than not, and a number you cannot sanity-check against your revenue until you have sat through a call. Budget the calendar time as well as the money.

Who should choose Videowise?

  • Brands whose problem is product pages converting too weakly, where video is the hypothesis and attribution is how you will prove it
  • Teams that want several video formats — on-site, clips, live — under one vendor and one invoice
  • Stores with traffic to justify $239 a month upwards and someone accountable for the content pipeline

Who should choose Sprii?

  • Brands where live selling is already the plan, not an experiment someone mentioned
  • Teams that want one show to reach their storefront and their social audiences at the same time rather than choosing
  • European retailers in categories where live selling is established and the audience expects it
  • Anyone with a host, a cadence and a promotion plan already identified

If live shopping is the direction but you want the broader alternatives field first, Firework alternatives covers the other large player in this space, and Tolstoy alternatives is the place to look if interactive rather than live video is what you actually want.

When neither is the right size

A large share of stores comparing two platform vendors should not buy either yet, and the tell is in how you describe the goal.

If the sentence is "I want our Instagram Reels and TikToks on the storefront, shoppable," that is an app, not a platform, and buying platform means paying for live infrastructure you will not switch on.

SwipeReel does that narrower job: it imports Instagram Reels and TikTok videos into shoppable feeds, tags products so a shopper can buy without leaving the video, and offers four widget types. The free plan covers 25 uploads with 5 videos live per feed and unlimited views, with no card required. Pro is a flat $9.99 a month or $101.99 a year, lifting the upload limit, putting every video live and removing branding.

What it does not do, stated plainly: live shopping, simultaneous social broadcasting, interactive branching video. If live selling is genuinely your plan, a flat-rate widget app is not a substitute and you should keep talking to Sprii.

What to ask on the call

Both evaluations involve a sales conversation — mandatory with Sprii, usual with Videowise above the entry tier. Four questions separate a useful call from a demo.

"Show me a store like mine, at my traffic." Every vendor in this category has a flagship case study from a brand ten times your size. The number that matters is what happened for someone your size, in your category, and whether they renewed.

"What counts as attributed revenue?" Ask what window is used and whether a session where the video merely loaded is included. That single definition moves the reported figure more than any feature does, and it is the number you will be asked to defend internally.

"What does month one actually involve?" Implementation, content production and who does which. Live shopping in particular has a setup cost in rehearsal and process that no licence fee captures.

"What does leaving look like?" Video library export, placement rebuild, analytics history. Ask before signing, because the answer is considerably harder to obtain later.

For live shopping specifically, add a fifth: ask what happens to the recording. A stream that becomes on-demand shoppable content afterwards is worth substantially more than one that disappears, and vendors differ on how well they support that second life.

The short version

Videowise if the problem is on-site conversion and you want attribution to prove video moved it. Sprii if live selling across your storefront and social channels at once is the actual plan and you have someone to host it.

And if you cannot yet name the person who owns video six months from now, that is the finding. Buy the small tool, learn whether anyone watches, and have this conversation again with data.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Videowise and Sprii?
Videowise is primarily an on-site shoppable video platform for ecommerce, sold per product line, with Live Shopping as one line among several. Sprii is a live-shopping platform first, and its distinctive capability is broadcasting a single live show to your own website and several social channels at the same time. One is a merchandising layer, the other is a broadcast operation.
How much does Sprii cost?
Sprii does not publish pricing. Its pricing page lists four plans — Sprii Boutique Social, Sprii Social, Sprii Combo and Sprii Turnkey — and each one routes to a conversation with their team rather than a price. There is no free tier advertised. Expect a quote shaped by your volume and which channels you want to stream to. Checked 15 September 2026.

Does Sprii work with Shopify?
Yes. Sprii lists integrations with Shopify alongside Magento and WooCommerce, plus payment and shipping connections including PayPal, so the checkout happens in your existing stack rather than in a separate one.
Do I need a studio to run live shopping?
No. Sprii states you can stream from iOS, Android or OBS, so a phone and decent light is a workable starting point. The harder requirement is not equipment, it is having someone who can host confidently and a schedule they will keep.
Which is better for a small store?
Usually neither, at least not first. Both assume an ongoing programme with a budget and an owner. A small store that wants product videos shoppable on its pages is better served by a flat-rate app until it has evidence that video moves its numbers.
Can I run live shopping and on-site shoppable video at the same time?
Yes, and mature brands generally do, because they answer different moments. Live shopping creates an event people attend; on-site video answers "what does this actually look like" at the point of decision. Just be honest about whether you have the capacity to run both well, because doing one properly beats doing two badly.
